DIY Embroidery Floss Wrapped Necklace Tutorial. This tutorial is different than others I’ve posted because Yin at Pretty Quirky Pants uses a different (more durable) type of rope - and really, if you are going to the trouble and time of making one I’d think about going with her more expensive choice. Tutorial from Pretty Quirky Pants here. She also sells them on Etsy here if you don’t have the time or patience to make one.

DIY Embroidery Floss Wrapped Necklace Tutorial. This tutorial is different than others I’ve posted because Yin at Pretty Quirky Pants uses a different (more durable) type of rope - and really, if you are going to the trouble and time of making one I’d think about going with her more expensive choice. DIY Black Gothic Wire Wrapped Ring. Another wire tutorial that uses a ring mandrel (which you can buy for about $5 or Wobisobi uses a candle). Clear photo instructions and she even has this ring in her Etsy store here. Tutorial at Around Wire here. For other wrapped wire jewelry posts I’ve made go to: http://truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/wire *I’ve mentioned Liver of sulfur before to oxidize metal (it stinks literally, but you get an amazing patina).

DIY Yarn Wrapped Letters. Found at the new site that combines my 2 personal favorites: fonts (you should see my font collection - it is amazing) and crafts. It’s called fontcrafts and you can find them here. She writes about the Yarn Wrapped Loom: This bold loom word via Loom Rugs was wrapped in a rainbow of colors.  I think this idea is so cool.  I’m sure this piece was a custom created piece (something you couldn’t just buy at the store), but I could see someone cutting the letters from cardboard and doing this same effect. My thoughts exactly. Because something I posted also turned up in her 5 yarn letter examples(and on everyone else’s blog). A DIY project I was passionate about: the LOVE yarn wrapped clothesline here.
