joy-personified asked: Regarding the kumihimo post from earlier, I find that it's MUCH easier to make the bracelets on a foam wheel! Cardboard can mess up the strings. I bought a sheet of foam at Michael's for a dollar or less, and just cut out a hole in the middle and slits on the side, and it works perfectly :)

DIY Eight to Twenty Eight Strand Spiral Braids Using a Cardboard Weaving Wheel Tutorial from  How Did You Make This? here. For the eight strand braid go here. EDIT: ofwordsandwaltzes messaged me that the spiral braid is made using an ancient Japanese technique called kumihimo. Joy-personified messaged me this helpful hint:
