True story - I was at the dentist’s office yesterday and the receptionist was wearing a black cardigan with flat backed gems of varying sizes around the neck. It was so pretty I had to ask if the gems were sewed or glued on. They weren’t sewn on so we both assumed they were glued. She’d handwashed it several times with none of them falling off :)
DIY Easy Asymmetrical Zipper Sweater Tutorial from Trash to Couture here. Really clever and versatile DIY of not cutting up a tee shirt or sweater, but placing the zipper on top. I would just pin the zipper really really well to prevent puckering or bunching when sewing.
