DIY Steampunk Thumb Tacks Tutorial and Printable from The Graphics Fairy here. I rarely post thumb tack tutorials because most of them take to long and I have other things to do with my time (the exception being the thumb thumb tacks here). But these are cheap and easy to make (and we can debate the “Steampunk” title) and I’m filing them under truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/manly-gifts
DIY Wire Wrapped Gear Steampunk Ring Tutorial from Boda Szilvia on deviantart here. Really excellent and clear tutorial using gears and wrapped wire. For more wire DIYs go here: truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/wire
DIY Easy Lace Up Corset Back Tutorial from Zeloco here. This is an excellent and easier than it looks tutorial. There is a tiny bit of hand sewing. *You could easily do this with any shirt or jacket.
DIY Layered Tulle Petticoat Tutorial from This Blog Is Not For You here. This pattern has an adjustable waistband so you can lower or raise the length. The left photo is a single and double petticoat combined and on the right is a double petticoat. Tulle is a really inexpensive fabric.
DIY Steampunk Bicycle Chain Choker Tutorial by flyingpuppy on Instructables here. This is an entry in the Instructables’ jewelry contest. You can switch out a lot of the harder to find parts with hardware store supplies. For more Steampunk DIYs go here: truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/steampunk
Someone asked in the comments if this was comfortable and flyingpuppy responded:
I’ve worn it and it feels quite comfortable. There is nothing sharp touching the skin.
DIY Steampunk or Cosplay Inspiration: from Yohji Yamamoto Spring 2007 here. This would be such an easy DIY.
