DIY Sharpie Mugs Tutorial from Fancy Frugal Life here. I’ve seen tons of sharpie mug projects done to death, but I liked the idea of kids drawing designs on them (and yes, I’d be really careful and roll up their sleeves and put an art smock on them or something to keep permanent sharpies off their clothes!). Another reason I haven’t posted the sharpie mugs is that you should only hand wash them (a pain) but I figured that the mugs could also be used as pencil/pen holders too.

truebluemeandyou: just like most of the porcelain pens have warnings about food touching artwork done with them, I’d keep the sharpies below drinking level.

DIY Studded Constellation Tote Tutorial from For The Makers here. If you aren’t a member you cannot get their clipart for the zodiac/constellation guide templates, but google it and look under images for lots of options. *Tip: want to save money? Use office brads or scrapbook brads. You could even “paint” the brads with nail polish but I like the brass look. These would make cheap, practical and yet personal gifts.

DIY Bleached Shorts Failure and Success and Important Tips from Oh So Pretty here. Posting because I love blogs that tell where their projects went oh-so-bad and why (photo bottom left), and then redoing them and having them look wonderful! I’ve talked about Bleach Stop before and linked an article about neutralizing/deactivating bleach especially if you plan on selling bleached fabric/clothing here. *For more tutorials on bleaching and dyeing fabric go here:  truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/bleach and here:  truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/dye and for pages more of DIY shorts go here:truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/shorts

DIY Dyed and Painted Old Sneakers Tutorial from My Junky Box here. You could also use Sharpies. *The site is in Turkish so I used Chrome to translate it (seriously, it is so easy to install a Google translator widget for your blog).
