truebluemeandyou: DIY Ice Lick or Dogsicle for Dogs. Reposting because this is all over Facebook with no attribution and I’ve found a new link and a photo of how you can make this yourself.
DIY Ice Lick or Dogsicle for Dogs. *EDIT: This is the Kool Dogz but I’m having trouble finding out where it is available for sale now on their website.
There is a short video showing how it’s made. But concept is still the same - freeze water in a bucket with treats, dog toys, chicken broth etc…
Instructions for Kool Dogz or any dogsicle:
- Fill the 96 oz. bucket with water or use chicken/beef broth. *EDIT: If it’s really scorching outside please use common sense. Some broth often has a high salt content (not all but lots of brands) and may dehydrate your dog. I would never use bullion cubes because these have some of the highest salt contents ever.
- Add dog toys and treats.
- Freeze the bucket in the freezer until it is hard.
What to put in a dogsicle?
- Chicken or beef broth or flavored doggie drink instead of water
- Dog Treats
- Tennis Ball
- Favorite Chew Toy
- Kibble (Dog Food)
- Scoop of Peanut Butter
DIY Pet Memorial Jars or Photo Jars Tutorial from inspiration & realisation here. The top jar contains Donatella’s dog Greta’s collar, leash and tags, and a photo of Greta with her boyfriend Toby. I saw this on D’s FB page today and emailed her asking her if she could make it public (she’s posting on her personal FB now and you can see info about how to like her page here). She got back to me with a link to her Tumblr blog and said she had posted a “pets in a jar” post on her blog. My mom just lost her dog and I really love this idea.
