DIY Inspirtion from the Artist Christian Marclay. His collages incorporate record covers and print media of all types. Lots more incredibly bizarre “I can’t take my eyes off of it” collages (which I love). More art and info on artist Christian Marclay from Droll Girl here.
DIY VHS Inspiration. By Artist Nick Gentry who has a website is here. From his Flickr Photostream Left to Right: The Reproduction Number 3 here, Replica here, Arcane Tonic here. *Nick Gentry’s Flickr page and website are amazing: mixed media collages with computer discs and other recycled materials.

Cut paper, pastel, pen in sketchbook
This was posted July 18th, 2011 with a source and only got 19 notes. It’s now #1 (by another poster) in CRAFTS with no source, so Artist Louisa Boyd is getting no credit for her work and you can’t go to the link on the other post to see more of her amazing art.
DIY Mixed Media Tissue Paper Technique Tutorial. Posting this not because I’m in love with what went on the tissue paper, but with the technique. I’ve used this on journal covers, frames, backgrounds for collages using foam core, etc… You get a really interesting almost leather like texture (also posted a designsponge tutorial using paper bags that I’ve also used to mimic leather). Tutorial at Artangel here.
“Happieness Ever After”. How imaginative is this? Machine embroidery, acrylic paint, vintage buttons on vintage fabric framed in 12” hoop. From 365 Lucky Days here.
