DIY Home Decor Inspiration: Papered Bookshelf from Aprill Aprill here. This is actually more the size of a shadowbox but you can still do this on a regular size book/display shelf. She used magazines, wrapping paper and cards and glued them to the back. If you don’t want this to be permanent my tip is to wrap a piece of foam core or heavy paper and fit it into the back of the bookshelf.
DIY Inspiration: Harry Potter’s “The Tale of the Three Brothers” painted by Liz Kirkham from her blog When Boredom Strikes here. I was looking for this picture that I had reblogged from someone else on Tumblr and realized the source was Pinterest (NO!). So I found the original source. Liz Kirkham painted the entire chapter of “The Tale of Three Brothers” from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Go to the link for really high resolution photos of her process. *In the comments Liz Kirkham said that a permanent marker may have worked better than a paintbrush. She wrote, “I used a can of really old black paint and a crummy paintbrush.”

DIY Hand Painted Writing On the Wall Tutorial from A Beautiful Mess here. She used latex paint for the handwriting. Interesting look that I would use in a small space that could be painted over easily when I got tired of it because I would never be brave enough to do this on a huge wall.

truebluemeandyou: DIY Headboard Using Popular Fabric Tree Shower Curtain. Reblogging because I’ve been getting questions about decorating cheaply in an apartment. This could also be cheap wall art hung with a curtain rod (I’ve hung rugs, quilts, etc… from the wall using a curtain rod and sew on Velcro or mini clips).
DIY Headboard Using Popular Tree Shower Curtain. No tutorial, pinned directly onto Pinterest here. But easy to make: staple the shower curtain to a wooden frame (plywood this size is really expensive). To find this shower curtain google “Tree Shower Curtain” or see it at Bed Bath & Beyond here for $30. You could also hang this from a curtain rod here.
