DIY Bedazzled Crystal Sneakers Tutorial from Honesty…WTF. If you have patience and a steady hand these are very cool.
I know what you are thinking - lots of things/places are getting bedazzled these days.

DIY China Plate Dessert Stand from Honestly…WTF for Martha Stewart. I love when the fashion blog Honestly…WTF goes Granny Style. They did it with their iconic Granny Couture Sunglasses here and have done it again with this beautiful dessert stand. Lots of drilling tips. Do you think that Grandma Martha Stewart knows that WTF does not stand for Where’s the Fish?
truebluemeandyou: This could also be used as a jewelry display. The advice for drilling through plates is really good - especially using water to cool down the bit (I do this when drilling into plexiglass to prevent cracking). My mother loves anything MoMA, mid century or modern - she will not be getting this for Mother’s Day.
DIY Safety Pin Couture. Tom Biinn’s Knockoff Pearl and Safety Pin Necklace Tutorial. http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-pearl-safety-pin-necklace/ The top photo is the original and the bottom photo is the knockoff. Hardest DIY ever - I kid! Pearls and safety pins pretty much sums up this DIY. Or maybe this:
truebluemeandyou: I love Safety Pin Couture. To see several pages worth truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/safety-pins including a really good safety pin angel wings jacket here.
DIY Two Braided Rhinestone Necklace Tutorials. A Tale of Two Tutorials. The crankycrafter does not presume to know either blogger and would never be rude enough to suggest that these tutorials are virtually identical. The crankycrafter just thinks society would be better off if “influences” would be publicaly mentioned.
- LEFT COLUMN: 2011 Thanks, I Made It Jolita Mourning Necklace: thanksimadeitblog.com/2011/09/odd-couple-diy-sparkly-embroidery.html
- RIGHT COLUMN: 2013 (April 2nd) Honestly…WTF Braided Rhinestone Necklace: honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-braided-rhinestone-necklace
truebluemeandyou: I haven’t tried Honestly…WTF’s tutorial (it just came out today), but I’ve successfully (and easily) made Thanks, I Made It’s version that I posted here (which is more like Jolita’s Mourning Necklace), This necklace has been on so many of my roundups, gift guides, etc… as I am fascinated with Victorian inspired mourning jewelry (the braided embroidery thread in Victorian times would have been hair). I also had a bunch of cheap rhinestone necklaces that I can now wear every day.
