DIY Free 2013 Calendar Roundup from More Design Please here. Two Examples from Roundup:

truebluemeandyou: Last minute gift - lots of options. Could even have wire bound at Staples cheaply.

DIY Polka Dot Animal Alphabet Free Printable from The Craft Begins here. Download this high resolution alphabet letter by letter.

truebluemeandyou: You download the really high res images on Flickr. If you don’t have a photo editing program use Picassa to make a collage. For gifts break this set into groups of two or three, have them printed cheaply at Costco, and frame or glue on to cheap canvases for a child’s bedroom. Or just get a poster print (thinner paper = cheaper print) and frame.

DIY Free Printable Creepy Labels to Add to Your Own Jam, Peaches, String, etc… for All Occasions or that Special Gift Basket. I posted this last October but I couldn’t add more photos so am reposting it now. I saw something similar to this in CRAFTS, but this is a free alternative. Favorites: Fang Floss, Scared to Death, Fear in a Jar - Panic Attack, Spill Your Guts and Brain Jam (with nutritional information). There’s something extra sinister in the clean, matter of fact graphic design. Download at Funkytime here. For more ideas see this post here.

Kids: you make me proud.

Burning Through Pages is a Denver-based non-profit organization that helps kids join book clubs in their communities (run by our volunteers and other kids), launch new book clubs in their communities, or interact one-on-one with a BTP volunteer.  We want to help kids experience literature on whatever level makes them comfortable, excited and reading, reading, reading!  We actually buy the books for the kids and if they love them, they keep them – and no, we are not joking.

DIY Grid Wall Inspired by Josef Müller-Brockman. The grids on the wall are made out of vinyl tape which is a good idea if you’re renting. Tutorial and history behind the grid wall at Milo&Ben here. *Some of the photos are missing from the site - thanks D - but more amazing photos here.

Tagxedo Creator here. So cool. Make a Tagxedo out of your blogs, other websites, tweets, tags, do a word search like Halloween or Christmas and then create shapes with those words. You can choose from tons of shapes, color palettes, whether your words are randomly placed or all vertical or horizontal. Lots of cool fonts to choose from. I spent way too much time at this site making mine from my tumblr blog URL.
