DIY Fairies In a Jar Tutorial or Why I Hate Pinterest. Well, not hate Pinterest all the time, but I’m seeing these obviously Photoshopped pictures all over Pinterest with “recipes” to make these magical fake photos come to life… which is like giving life to an Urban Legend over and over again. Well the Blogger of Jude and the Walrus decided to see if she could get the same results with a glow stick and glitter and voila - NOPE. If you still like this project enough to do it - Bottom Left Photo: REAL DIY from Jude and the Walrus here. *For something that works and lasts more than 10-12 hours make a glitter and glue “keep calm” meditation jar I posted here (with keep calm and sparkle artwork), or go to my roundup of DIY Galaxy and Glow In The Dark Jars Tutorials.
Roundup of DIY Galaxy and Glow In The Dark Jars Tutorials. What I found for searching for good tutorials: lots of identical photos with no source and half baked tutorials that pretend to recreate the source photo with no photo to back it up, and Pinterest links to general boards (UGH). *Tip: glow sticks don’t last more than a night.
DIY Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt. Fill your Easter eggs with glow sticks from Michaels, The Dollar Store, Target Dollar Spot, etc… From mommysavers here.

DIY Glow Sticks in Balloons. Changes boring balloons at night into something fun. From Play at Home Mom here. She has more ideas for glow sticks on her site. She writes:
I purchased these glow sticks at the dollar store. Bracelets come in a pack of five. You can also get some at Michaels Craft Store in a pack of 15 for a buck! If you store the glow sticks in the freezer after using them, they will last several nights.
DIY Star Wars Light Saber Card. I don’t “love” Valentines Day, but I do love this card! It’s hard to tell from this photo (and that’s the point!) but a glow stick is used for the light saber. Get the free PDF files and how-to from Brassy Apples here.
