truebluemeandyou: DIY Meditation Jar. Last minute gift for kids or stressed out grownups. Where to fins glycerin? CVS, drug stores, supermarkets.

DIY Meditation Jar.  Great gift - put a great label on it like, “Keep Calm and Sparkle” or “Keep Calm and Glitter On” for a stressed out person (children or grownups). Saw something almost identical on Tumblr and reblogged it here but wanted to know where it came from. The idea came from Still Life with Circles here for use with children(Lower Right Photo). Her recipe has glycerin (used in all snowglobes) and liquid soap and is more snowglobe-like. Then Here We Are Together here (Left Photo) modified the recipe and added glue - go to the link to see exactly what she added.

truebluemeandyou: DIY Mason Jar Tiny Pies. Since it’s near Thanksgiving and the holidays I thought I’d reblog one of my favorite food/gift posts.

DIY Mason Jars Tiny Pies. So easy after reading this post. You can use store bought pie crust (I really like Pillsbury pie crust - the one in the refridgerated section) and canned filling. Tutorial and recipes from Camille Styles here.

truebluemeandyou: DIY Mini Bow and Arrow. Posted December 2011 as a stocking stuffer.

DIY Mini Bow and Arrow Set. Love this photo. Popsicle stick, Q-tip, dental floss and a pen. Tutorial with lots of photos at The Brooding Hen here. *They have a good way of making this into a gift for little kids (big kids too?):

“ We put them in a special pouch with 6 arrows, and we use fine point pens to decorate the bow with the child’s name.”
“Take care, they can shoot a surprising 15-20 feet!”

truebluemeandyou: DIY Vicious Koala Attack Costume. Going through my Halloween posts for my new blog halloweencrafts and this is my absolute favorite.

DIY Vicious Koala Attack Costume. Tutorial (and another example shown - a dog biting your behind) by Eric J. Wilhelm, founder of Instructables here. Great idea for so many stuffed animals - I mean how many Barneys are at thrift stores right now (and I always wash in hot hot water, any stuff animal I buy used)?

DIY Recycled Water Bottle Boot Shapers Tutorial from …Love Maegan here. Really good gift idea and easy to make your own version of this using recycled plastic bottles. She’s thought of everything from the ribbon pull to pull your shapers out of the boots to decorative tassels. Filing under cheap gifts for the upcoming holiday season. *On my sidebar I have “Cheap Gift Ideas” and “My Favorites” where I try and keep track of possible gifts I can make. Also, you can search my blog (or other Tumblr blogs) by typing in www.truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/TAGGED/FAVORITES. When I used to be a DIY editor it’s how I searched blogs quickly for DIY projects.
