I would use fabric paint. It will be cheaper and easier in the long run and you only need to buy one color. DIY Easy Painted Floral Purse Tutorial from Studs and Pearls here. I really like this tutorial because Kirsten used a technique she found used for icing cookies with floral patterns and adapted it using a square brush and fabric paint. You could also use these flowers on notebooks, clothing etc…

DIY Gilded Camo Jacket Tutorial from Wobisobi here. I’m seeing camoflage patterns on all the fashion blogs, but this is the first DIY I’ve seen where some of the pattern is picked out and painted gold. I really love this idea, and the stenciled angel wings on the pocket.

DIY Bleached and Doodle Shorts Tutorial from Dare to DIY here.
