DIY Doodle Easter Eggs with Sharpies. I loved these black and white Easter Eggs done with a fine point Sharpie so much I asked Alisa Burke if I could post them (as per her website). Admittedly we aren’t all as talented as Alisa Burke, but she shows how she created these here.

Louisa Boyd, Swallows, 2009
Cut paper, pastel, pen in sketchbook

This was posted July 18th, 2011 with a source and only got 19 notes. It’s now #1 (by another poster) in CRAFTS with no source, so Artist Louisa Boyd is getting no credit for her work and you can’t go to the link on the other post to see more of her amazing art.

Free Download: Edward Scissorhands Fan Art by MichaelChoiArt at Deviantart here. Black ink on white paper drawing, pretty high resolution download. It’s been posted on Tumblr before without giving credit to the source (I found it in 15 seconds) so they missed the free download part - that’s why I like to know the source. I also found it for Paper Sparrow’s Tim Burton Blog Party and no, my real name is not Jules.

If a 5th grader can do this, can I? No really - I CANNOT draw so maybe I could try this! From exhibit “5th grade - Op Art in the Style of Bridget Riley” by Caleb4399 (Art ID #14310429) from Bluffton Elementary School— grade 5. Found at Artsonia here. Instructions (because lord knows I need them to draw anything):

5th grade artists started the year off studying English artist, Bridget Riley. They loved the idea of line creating an optical illusion. We drew the outline of a hand, very lightly in pencil, and then began drawing lines freehand across the paper. When part of the hand was in the way of the straight line, each artist had to “crawl over” their finger or hand with curves and arcs. The optical illusion became very obvious if the lines were close together and the curves fairly strong.

DIY Anthropoligie Inspired Monogrammed Mugs. Anthropologie Mugs on left here. Good tutorial from Design Mom here: tons of photos, super clear instructions and tips from getting thrifted mugs to where to get the Black Pebeo Porcelaine Pen in Fine Point ($4 at Michaels, also available here). Those who follow me know I love Sharpies (all types) and the Clorox Bleach Pen. I have never tried these Porcelaine Pens before, but for $4 and dishes that cost a few bucks, why not try it? Even if it’s a stick figure drawing (that would be my design), it would be unique to you. *I know lots of big time blogs have been posting projects with these pens without food warnings, but they are not recommended for coming in contact with food - so outside of mugs only, and not near where your lips touch the rim.

truebluemeandyou: Also reblogging this because the Clorox Bleach Pen is like my Sharpie on Opposite Day.

DIY Bleach Doodles T-Shirt Using the Clorox Bleach Pen. There have been other tutorials using the Clorox Bleach Pen, but none that offered such good advice, or did such a great job of drawing on a T-Shirt. Instructions are from the site: Vitamin C…A Daily Dose of Creativity here. This is some of Kim’s advice using the bleach pen n a shirt (more advice on her site):
the bleach can be applied in a thick line (see above where I started with a thick line), or a thinner line

If you apply the bleach and let it dry on the shirt, the bleaching will be complete and the lines will be white
If you apply the bleach and rinse it off after 10 minutes or so, some of the shirt’s color will remain
