DIY Wooden Clothespin Dolls. On the blog the not-so-perfect ones the kids made are also shown. I made these when I was little, my mom glued metallic thread to the top and made them into Christmas ornaments. From Making It Lovely here.

DIY Flavored Homemade Butter. Something to file away for Christmas/Holidays because this would make the perfect gift especially in a food basket a long with flavored vinegar here, and maybe some tiny mason jar pies here. Tutorial from Please Note here. *I posted another tutorial on my kids blog here about making plain butter because you can just put the heavy cream in a jar and have kids take turn shaking it.

truebluemeandyou: Cereal bag Notes, Cards, Ornaments etc… Love this as an alternative to vellum that I just mentioned in a reblogged post here. Of course there are times you want to use beautiful vellum :)

DIY Hanging Hearts Ornaments or for Valentine’s Day. These are made out of cereal bags with notes inside and machine stitched - I like the delicate transparency that can’t be achieved with fabric without a stiffiner. From personal experience frayed ribbon, some silver sequins, old fashioned script etc… looks best. You could even line the entire heart/whatever shape you want with different paper. Tutorial from crescendoh here.

DIY Rice Pudding in a Bottle with Free Printable. I’m saving this for Holiday time 2012. It’s a dry mixture of inexpensive ingredients in a glass yogurt or plain bottle, and a free retro printable with instructions on the back. Also nice as a wedding favor. Recipe, how-to and free printable packaging from Funkytime here.

DIY Lemon Bars To Go. Bake in 1/2 pint Jars. I wish these had been posted at Christmas/holiday time because these would make wonderful hostess gifts, party favors or just wonderful gifts. At the very end she recommends doubling the filling recipe so read to the end! Tutorial and recipe from Lady Behind the Curtain here.

DIY Free Pattern for Stocking Hats for Bottles. I know the holidays have past, but these are really bright and cheerful and could go on the top of any bottle - expensive shampoo, old fashioned glass bottles, etc… I’m going to knit these for next year because they are that easy. Tutorial and pattern (and PDF download if you want) from Simply Notable here.

DIY Holiday Gift Idea. I know the holidays are over and this is a corny and silly and a bad sitcom-like idea, but I’m filling this away for next year because it is strangely funny - especially if you live in the US and know these snack cakes! First found at Pinterest, from One of a Kind Gifts here:

“One of my favorites is to tie a ribbon around a box of Ho Hos and a box of Ding Dongs. Then include a little note that says “Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas from the Ding Dongs next door
