DIY Build Your Own LEGO Necklaces and Rings. Wonderful gifts or party favors. Tutorial and very detailed PDF Project Download Sheet from Chez Beeper Bebe here. *Like some I’ve seen on Etsy.
Truebluemeandyou: The LEGO Rings look like the ones I posted (without tutorial) here.
DIY Anthropologie Pipe Cleaner Headband. Photos: TOP DIY, BOTTOM Antrhopologie $38 Pipe Cleaner Headband here. Seriously simple and cheap tutorial from When Henry Happened here. *One jpeg download from site.
Not just for children at all :)
DIY Personal Paper Heart Necklace. Love this idea - 2 sisters exchanging gifts - paper hearts with maps where the sister lives, song lyrics, dictionary definitions. Really personal yet cheap and easy to make. Tutorial from Creative Passage here.
DIY Mini Marshmallow Cocoa Mugs. Marshmallows dipped (or not) in chocolate. These may go on the short list to accompany the chocolate dipped candy canes here for all those gifts I now have to give. Tutorial/recipe at Crissy’s Crafts here.
DIY Kissing Clothespin. No tutorial, just use paint or Sharpies. Seen at Quando Fuori Piove here.
DIY Snowman Gum Stocking Stuffer/Cute Tiny Gift. Use a sharpie and/or acrylic paint. This photo came from a tutorial on how to use this in an Advent Book from Our of the Crayon Box here.
DIY Snowball Soap. This is silly but I really like it because kids can do this and contribute to gift making/giving. Plus, they do like snowballs! Tutorial at Greenbean’s Crafterole here (part of the fun of looking at blogs is their names!).
DIY Wire Heart Bracelet with Button Closure. So simple and easy. Do whatever shape you want (you could even add beads that would fit over the wire to the design). Also, braiding cord is cheap and comes in every color imaginable. Tutorial at Wobisobi here.
DIY Clear Soap or Sanitizer Gifts - funny or traditional (free monogram download). *For this project, only use a laser/copy center printer for transparencies. Get soap/sanitizer at the Dollar Store. Photo on the right: complete tutorial and free downloads for blank monogram and one for teachers at The Idea Room here. Photo on the left uploaded by a Pinterest member here and she writes:
“I took their photos, cut them out and glue onto white paper. Then photo copy onto transparency paper (Kinkos for less than a $1), then cut out image and roll it up so that it can fit into the top of a soap bottle. Make sure you have clear soap or sanitizer.”
truebluemeandyou: Tattoo Inspired Hair Pins. Reblogging because if you want to do this type of theme, this is the time of year to pick up on-sale scrapbooking stickers, embellishments etc… Now 50-70% off.
DIY Not so Usual Hair Clips. Love the advice Crafting Rebellion gives on Etsy sources, off line sources, and practical tips and advice. Another new blog with really fresh ideas I’m checking all the time (like Design DNA here). Great cheap gift idea, especially if packaged beautifully (examples of great packaging on her site - I just picked this photo because I likes these clips). Tutorial from Crafting Rebellion here. *I’ve also posted her tutorial: Index Cards into a Notebook Pad here.

The purpose of my blog has become to catalog unique crafts that I truly love and would do myself. I love the look of handmade crafts - handmade in a good way. My crafts tend to be doable and inexpensive - because I have either done them myself or intend on doing them. "Doable" doesn't mean "simple" crafts, but rather crafts that have tutorials that are clear and easy to understand. *I will never copy an entire tutorial from any blogger because that takes away page views from their site and 99.99% of the time it violates their copyright policy. I also will not reblog a post if the entire tutorial is published without the permission of the original blogger. I will cite, if known, sources for my posts because I believe in giving credit to the photographer/designer/blogger. Also, to act like something is your own idea, when it isn't, is just wrong.
