DIY Japanese Stab Binding Book Tutorial from Oh So Pretty here. Really easy to follow tutorial.

howdidyoumakethis:

Make a hand bound journal with decorative stitching that is so much nicer to hold than a spiral bound book.

Truebluemeandyou: One of the easiest, best photographed tutorials on this type of hand bound book. There is even a template to print out for where to drill/cut your holes for “sewing” the book together. And yes, I’ve taken book binding classes too.

Recycled Paper Art Journals. When I saw the covers of these journals in a thumbnail I thought Trader Joe’s and was right! I’m not sure I’d do this tutorial from Creative Kismet here (being honest because I have taken a class on bookbinding and it wasn’t my favorite craft). But the tutorial also has instructions on how to prepare paper surfaces to be thicker and stronger so you can paint, stamp, use markers etc… on them. I do love the look of Trader Joe’s paper bags. I find them very steampunk and have used them in the background of typography pieces and as wrapping paper.
