DIY Lavender, Strawberry and Vanilla Ruffle Cake Tutorial. Love this tutorial because she does a “crumb coat” (quick and dirty coat of icing before you do the real one), and the directions are really clear. Tutorial from Bubble and Sweet here. *When I took cake decorating classes from Wilton, we used Crisco Vegetable Shortening because eventhough it’s kind of gross, it’s supposedly easier to decorate with.
