DIY Crocheted Googly Eyes Monster Hat Tutorial and Free Pattern from Plus 3 Crochet here. Really cute - you can tie the eyes up or leave them down. The basic pattern for the hat is also free at Ravelry where you can sign up for a free account (lots of free patterns for knitting and crochet). Also, you can adjust this pattern to any size. If you like this pattern I’d copy it down now because it may disappear like some of the projects I’ve posted.
