I’ve also given “kits” with beads as birthday/holiday presents in a cheap tackle box with: beads (I’d include alphabet beads, and for little kids I’d put in big wooden beads) elastic and blunt needles (shoelaces for little kids) embroidery floss and directions for friendship bracelets name on the box with puffy paint, nail polish or scrapbooking letters
