What Teachers Really Want for Gifts. I‘m cranky because I’m seeing so much stuff on the DIY blogs like the above photo, and this gem was spotted at Goodwill, dumped there probably by a teacher. I personally know so many teachers (close family and friends) and they HATE this kind of sentimental fake motivational stuff. The Bearded Iris post is so good http://www.thebeardediris.com/2011/05/05/teacherappweek/
I totally agree with her list of what teachers really want:
a good bottle of wine
good quality coffee beans or tea
respect
gift cards from stores or restaurants they like
gratitude
hand written notes/cards
parents who care
recognition for a job well done

truebluemeandyou: Why don’t I ever post DIY teacher appreciation gifts? THIS IS WHY. Spend the money on a giftcard no matter how small to Trader Joe’s or something rather than give a cutsey gift. A handwritten note to a teacher telling them how much they’ve meant to your child is worth so much more than a a bouquet of pencils.

I really wish Patricia had won Project Runway. I made this GIF at http://www151.lunapic.com/editor/. There are lots of really cool features and no watermarks at lunapic.

truebluemeandyou:I just checked lunapic out and it is free and amazing. No watermarks and tons of video and photo actions like making a reflecting pool mirroring your photo (and all the basics too). Best part? You can resize GIFs to make them fit Tumblr’s size limit. You can also make GIFs and determine the frame rate, speed and image width.
